Herald and Review Library: Robinson, Sgt. Jacob Philip; Article on back of photo; "A veteran of three Pacific campaigns--Guadacanal, Tarawa and Saipan--Marine Platoon Sgt. Jacob Philip Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Robinson, 2080 North Monroe street, receives the Bronze Star Medal for bravery in action from Col. George Van Orden, commander of the marine base at Klamath Falls, Oreg., Sergeant Robinson was cited 'for extraordinary courage and coolness under fire' by Admiral Chester Nimitz. He spent 23 months in the Pacific before being returned to this country for treatment of a tropical ailment. Sergeant Robinson was wounded in the Saipan battle."
