Herald and Review Library: Schaub, Lt. Enid; Article on back of photo; "Things are different here in the States, Second Lieut Enid Schaub found recently upon her return to Decatur after serving six months with the army medical staff at the army hospital in Oran, Algeria. Lieutenant Schaub arrived in New York by plane from Casablanca early in February. She had waited six weeks for passage home. I was a patient in the hospital at Casablanca during that time, she explained. She wasn't wounded. She had developed a cold and let anyone try to fight a cold during the rainy season n North Africa. The rains don't begin until November, she said. But Oran in August is cold and damp. I traveled to North Africa with a convoy. we arrived in August and stayed in temporary quarters until the permanent hospital was completed six weeks later. What Patients Talk Of; Miss Schaub is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Schaub, 2047 North Monroe street. She was in charge of central supply, dealing with such things as sterile material, small instruments and trays."
