Welch, pharmacist's mate, second class, Macomb; Miss Cora Jane Wasson, yeoman, third class, Decatur; Miss Irene C. Leben, specialist second class, Peoria, Miss Agnes F. Brenneman, aviation machinist's mate, second class, Canton; Lorraine Charlotte Nelson, aviation machinist's mate, second class, Calumet City, Miss Mary C. Marlowe, seaman, first class, of Peky, and Miss Vera Margaret Drabok, yeoman, second class, LaGrange, were not present to appear in the photograph." Article in the Herald and Review; "Cora Jane Wasson, yeoman, third class, fourth from left, is shown with seven Waves from Illinois who have reported for duty in the Hawaiian Island. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Wasson of 1432 West Forest avenue, Yeoman Wasson was the first girl recruited from Decatur by the civilian Wave recruiter here. Former student at Millikin university, she received boot training at Hunter college, new York and was later assigned to the navy pre-flight school in Iowa City, Ia."
