Allen M. Hill, right; at the Chicago Armory as part of a prewar induction. Duffey and 17 other men from Decatur were sent to Chicago as part of the Compulsory Military Training Act on March 21, 1941." Newspaper Article; " Also leaving Decatur yesterday wre 108 draftees who were inducted at the 122nd field artillery armory in Chicago. Here, Raymond Earl Duffey, a Millikin conservatory violin instructor, has his number painted on his hand by Pvt. Allen M. Hill at the Chicago Armory."
