Pierce of Klamath Falls, Ore., are shown checking and refueling a liaison plane at Akyab island off the coast of Burma. Private Gillespie is a son of Mrs. Alice Gillespie, 804 West Harrison street. He is a mechanic and went overseas last November. He graduated from Decatur high school and was employed in Chicago when he entered the service two years ago."
