Hill, Chief gunner's Mate of Route #2, Decatur, IL., is looking forward to a reunion with his wife, Alberta, follwing 23 months combat duty at sea. He served aboard a Coast Guard manned LST in the invasions of Kiska and Tarawa. 'Kiska was tough and it was plenty hot at Tarawa...both from Jap gunfire and the weather, he reported.'"
