Herald and Review Library; Lorenz, Cpl. Henry D. "Rocky"; Article on back of photo; "Cpl. Henry D. "Rocky" Lorenz, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Lorenz, 365 South Broadway, is back home after spending 52 months overseas, 45 of them as a prisoner of the Japs. he arrived in Decatur Friday and is staying with his parents for 90 days before going to Great Lakes for re-assignment. Cpl. Lorenz was captured by the Japanese on Wake Island Dec 23, 1941, when the American base was lost. He and other survivors of that gallant fight were then transferred aboard a Japanese ship to Yokohama. some of the Americans were taken off there, but t he others, including Cpl. Lorenz, were taken on to Woo Sung, a prison camp 15 miles from Shanghai."
