Photographs of President Howard Taft. VS33: "William Howard Taft, far left, favored greeters with a fine sample of the famous Taft smile as he stepped off the train for his Decatur visit in 1911. And there in the crowd to record the event was Photographer J. K. Stafford." VS34: "Taft, Pres. William Howard -- Decatur Visit--1911. Photo taken Feb 11, 1911."
VS35: "President William Howard Taft, standing, and A. R. Taylor, president of Millikin University, climb down from the auto which took them to Millikin University following Taft's 14-minute address on "Reciprocity" at the Transfer House. At the university he spoke to students, faculty and guests. Taft visited here as President on Feb. 11,, 1911. He had made other visits before he became President and returned to Decatur later as a Supreme Court Justice." VS44: "At the Wabash R. R. Station U. S. President Taft and Millikin University President Taylor got into the back seat of the Chauncey Powers auto to be driven through the streets of Decatur before stopping at the Transfer House for Presidents Taft's speech. Included in the parade were the Goodman Band and several carloads of city dignitaries." VS45: "Taft, Pres. William Howard--Decatur Visit--1911. Seated in car with Taft is Charles S. Deneen, former governor of Illinois and United States Senator. Photo taken February 11,, 1911."
