Herald and Review Library: Sutherland, Ruth; Article on back of photo; "Ensign Ruth Sutherland, of the Spars, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Sutherland, 631 West William street, is holding 'Bootie' third place winner in a pet show at the United States coast guard station, Palm Beach, Fla. The kitten was sponsored by the recruit school staff and named for new Spars, who are called 'booties; during their first three weeks of training. Ensign Sutherland is now stationed in St. Louis."
