Herald and Review Library: Walton, Norma Jean; Article on back of photo; "Cloud formations displayed at the U. S. Naval training School, Hunter college, New York city, interest WAVE apprentice seaman Norma jean Walton, daughter of Mrs. Fedora Walton, 1158 N. Church St. Miss Walton was a member of the second contingent of the Inez J. Bender WAVE Platoon. She attended high school in Decatur and worked for the Staley Manufacturing company prior to her enlistment. she will be sent either to a Navy training specialty school or assigned to a Naval base when she completes here 'boot' training. The charts and cloud formations are used as visual aids in the training of WAVES for work in the field of aerography."
