WWII - Herald and Review Library; DeLong, Esther Maude, 6/21/1945 unused. "Public Relations Office, U.s. Coast Guard Training Station, Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn 29, New York, Dewey 2-1012. Date: 18 June 1945. For immediate release. Esther Maude DeLong, Sea. 1c(SK), 1278 W. green St., Decatur, was the first SPAR at Manhattan Beach Training station, New York, to buy a bond in the 7th War Loan Drive. Seaman DeLong, daughter of Mrs. Gail DeLong, is assigned to duty in the Pay office at the Coast Guard Station. Her brother, Burke L. DeLong, is a Ph. M.2c in the Navy and is now at Okinawa.
