Herald and Review Library: Photo of Macon County Draftees; Article on back of photo: "Macon County rural draft board sent 23 1-A men to Peoria today for induction into the army. The group constitutes the board's quota for the early August call. Nine other rural selectees went in the 1-B group. The rural board 1-A men are shown above as they appeared yesterday when they received final instruction from the board at the County building. Virgil Walker, 443 North Morgan street, was named as leader for the rural group on the trip to Peoria today."
