Herald and Review Library: Photo of Macon County draftees standing in front of the courthouse steps; Article on back of photo; "Thirty-seven 1-A men from Decatur draft board No. 1 left for Peoria this morning for induction into the army. Five other men called by board No. 1 enlisted and already have entered service as part of the August induction group. The No. 1 board men are shown as they appeared yesterday when they received final instruction from the board. Toney Gisolo, local chain store manager, was named leader of the group, and Howard Lanier, Millikin student, was elected assistant leader."
