Photograph of Sol Tick & Co. Scrap Iron, 901 East Eldorado St. c. 1950's. Photographs of Sol Tick & Co. Scrap Iron Buildings. "Sol Tick and Company Scrap Iron. The firm has been business in Decatur for over 50 years and is located at 1180 N. 22nd Street. Sol Tick came to Decatur in 1937 and young German immigrant. He engaged extensively in the junk business with his largest shipping yard doing business at the North 22nd Street site and one just east of the railroad tracks on East Eldorado. He was the downtown's premier landlord, owning considerable property for many years."
