Description

Herald and Review Library: Green, Vernon in navy blues holding monkey named "Mike". Article on back of photo; "Vernon Green, who served 15 months in the Pacific on L. S. M. 325, brought "Mike" a Philippine Island monkey, home with him. Mike was given to Vernon in Toyko by a soldier because the cold weather of Japan did not agree with the monkey. The little aminal is quite friendly but his tastes run to the more scarce items such as mayonnaise and beer. Although he is only one yar old, he is quite fond of both beer and whiskey, Vernon said. He eats much the same food that humans do."
