Knuth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Knuth, 1352 East Olive street, has completed training as a bombardier and was recently awarded his wings and commissioned a second lieutenant in the army airforce at exercises held at San Angelo, Texas. He is home on furlough visiting his parents. Before entering the service last January, he was employed by the Huston-Patterson Corp." "Capt. Melvin W. Knuth, 31, died Dec 12, 1951 when his B-45 jet plane crashed into Chesapeake Bay along with two other officers."
