"Morehouse & Wells - after last week's 'Scrapbook' article about the end of Morehouse & Wells retail business in downtown Decatur in 1958 (due to a fire at its building on Franklin) I found this photo in my file that was shot of the business in 1896, when it was located at 134 East Main Street. they really built some ornate buildings back in those days. This building was destroyed by fire in 1909." Photo of crowd downtown.
