Description

Photographs of First Presbyterian organist and the first building completed in 1859. "Presbyterian Church--First--Building--Old. In 1856 the First Presbyterian congregation started construction of this brick church on the present site of the Y.M.C.A. It stood just west of the alley facing Prairie. It was completed in 1859 and was used until the present building at Church and Prairie was completed in 1891. In 1904 this old brick church was torn down to make way for the Y.M.C.A. building. Photo ran Oct. 1, 1935."
