Photograph of Mont E. Peniwell; (died Mar 3, 1925). Manager of the Goodman Band 1883-1903. Elected City Treasurer in 1896, served 2 terms. Elected City Clerk then and served 2 terms. Later was Deputy Co. Treasurer, County Clerk. Sheriff 1918-1922. Appointed assistant Superintendent to Department Pardons and Paroles 1922-1925. Photo by VanDeventer Studio of Decatur, IL. Ran in the Herald and Review Oct. 25, 1903.
