Photograph of Maywood Maxon, (died Oct 10, 1945). He became employed for the Standard Oil Co. in Ohio in 1875. He worked his way up to traveling salesman and was transferred to Peoria in 1880. In December 1887 he was put in charge of the office and business at Decatur as manager. He retired about 1902 but he later joined with his brother-in-law in running a small ice cream factory and cookie bakery on North Main Street. He also was a candidate for commissioner in 1911. Ran in the Decatur Herald or Review 2/19/1911.
