Photography of Charles F. Shilling (born 9/27/1857; died 12/30/1917; married Lucy Shaw in 1870). He came to Decatur in 1879 and opened a drug store, in 1882 he was manager and captain of Decatur's first semi-professional ball team, the Decatur Reds. He was twice elected Mayor of Decatur, 1901 and 1905. Photo by VanDeventer Studio, photo ran in the Herald and Review, 12/31/1917.
