Photograph of the Nickelodeon Theatre, 300 N. Water Street. Decatur's first motion picture theater opened 19906 and rub y W. H. Ellis. Later known at the Colonial Theatre when this picture was taken, 'The Fall Round Up" was being shown. Photo ran 10/30/1935. This building was remodeled into Carsons Jewelers in 1955. Photograph of the Nickelodeon Theatre--1910. Photo taken during Local Option Parade April 2, 1910. "The participants are shown here marching past the Nickelodeon Theatre located on the Northeast corner of Water and William Streets where Carson Jewelers is now located. Reverend W. A. "Billy" Sunday returned to Decatur to address a crowd of 4,000 listeners on the Y.M.C.A.'s tennis courts. By vote in 1908, Decatur had become dry, and the issue of wet or dry and the issue of liquor sales had reared its head again in 1910."
