Description
Photo of Nathan L. Krone (d. 3/31/1916). Decatur druggist for over 60 years. He came to Decatur in 1839 and began clerking in the Stamper & Condell store and then in 1852 he went to the King and Reed drug store and was there until 1855. He later worked for the Armstrong drug store on Lincoln Square. About 1893 he went into business for himself at the corner of Calhoun and Leafland and later erected a building of his own at Calhoune and Grand. After four years he sold this business but built another store at Jasper and E. William where with his son he conducted a drug business until June 1915 when he sold out. He was an authority on early Decatur and Macon county. Photo by Wasson Studio of Decatur, IL.
