Description

Photograph of Thomas Hutchinson Wells; (died 7/13/1925). He was an employee of the Wabash Railroad for over 40 years. He entered the employment of the Wabash in 1884, being sent to Peru, Ind. where for three years he was foreman of the planing mill. He then was transferred to Decatur as foreman of the planing mill here and for thirteen years remained in this position. When the new shops were erected he worked in them until 1911 when he became watchman for the Wabash buildings. He retired in 1923. He was member of Decatur Lodge No 65, I.O.O.F., and of the Salvation Army. He heard some of the Lincoln-Douglas debates. Photo by East End Gallery of Decatur. Ran in the Review July 16, 1905.
