Photograph of Mrs. A. M. Wells (Mary R.). Died 6/18/1954. Wife of Rev. A. M. Wells who died in 1950. He was for 50 years in the Methodist ministry in Central Illinois. During the last 19 years of his ministry he was executive secretary of the Preachers Aid Society of the Illinois Conference of the Methodist Church. She was active in the Decatur Woman's Club, the Art Institute and church work, particularly helping her husband with his duties in connection with the Preachers Aid Society. In 1927 she was re-elected president of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the Decatur District of the Illinois Methodist conference.
