Description

Photographs of the funeral procession for Tunis Wilson; (died 4/20/1917). Tunis Wilson was a second lieutenant in Company L. of the Fifth Infantry Regiment of Illinois. He was recruiting men for his company when he contracted pneumonia and died. His death was the first from Macon Co. during the war. He was buried with full military honors. He had previously been employed at the Decatur Bridge Works, but had been with the National Guard several years before his death. See article in the Review Apr. 19, 1917 for photo of him. Photo by Bijou Studios of Decatur. It was unused.
