Description
Photograph of John Allen, a Decatur realtor for many years. He was a member of the Board of Supervisors, and was the chairman of the Board of Review in 1899. Allen was elected circuit clerk and recorder in 1900, and served for 19 years. In 1919, he entered the Citizens National Bank and organized the trust department. He was also responsivle for the adoption of the tract index system in Macon County. The photograph was taken Vandeventer's, and ran in the Decatur Daily Review on June 18, 1903.
