Description

Photograph of Frederic A. Delano, Laurence Crunelle, and Lorado Taft at the joint luncheon of the Illinois Art Extension tour and the American Civic Association at the Decatur Country Club on September 30, 1929. Delano was the president of the American Civic Association, and Wabash Railroad. Laurence Crunelle was the son of Leonard Crunelle, who was a Chicago artist who lived in Decatur as a boy. Lorado Taft urged Decatur to have a Crunelle statue erected before it was too late for Leonard Crunelle to make one. The photo ran in the Decatur Herald or Daily Review on October 2, 1929.
