Description

Photograph of Benjamin Dill (d. 1/7/1926). Dill was a Decatur contractor who built many houses and schools in and near Decatur. He also built the first house in Maroa, IL. Dill was an Alderman in Decatur for 2 years and commissioner of highways in 1877, and Assistant Supervisor of highways in 1878. He heard Lincoln and Douglas speak many times. The photo was taken by Vandeventer.
