Description
Photograph of Aaron Kaufman (d. 12/2/1938). He managed one of Decatur's leading men's clothing stores for 45 years. He opened a clothing store in Decatur in 1888, 9 years after opening the Kaufman store in Champaign. He retired in 1933, and the store was purchased by Sessel's, Inc. Kaufman was a charter member of both the Elks Club and the Knights of Pythias, and a member of the Decatur Club and Temple B'Nai Abraham. The photo was taken by Seitz, and used in the Decatur Herald or Daily Review on January 3, 1932 and December 3, 1938.
