Description

Photograph of John Harmon Kiick (b. 8/7/1860, d. 9/5/1936). The son of John Kiick of Mt. Pulaski, IL, Kiick was a wealthy farmer who leased 230 acres of his land to be used as an airport. The airport was named Kiick Airport, and was on Rt. 36 and Wyckles Rd., 3 miles west of Decatur. The airport was abandoned in 1936. The photo was taken by the Decatur Daily Review on March 29, 1931. The photo was never used.
