Description

Photograph of Joseph B. Dinges (d. 11/6/1916). He was the nephew of W.H. Linn, the founder of Linn & Scruggs, and worked for him in his store for many years. He later had a grocery business with James Coop that was sold to Bradley Bros. Later in life, he worked in the insurance business. Dinges was a Civil War veteran, and a member of the Pythian Home committee from the Chevalier Board, No. 189. His home was at 257 N. Main St. The photo was taken by Wamsley-Wasson of Decatur, and used in the Decatur Daily Review on June 9, 1910.
