Photograph of Dr. Arthur F. Wilhelmy; (died 4/16/1920). He started his practice of medicine in Decatur about 1897 after graduating from the Cincinnati College of Medicine. He was elected county physician soon after taking up his practice here. He was at one time president of the Decatur Medical Society and was a member of the Central Illinois Medical Society, and a fellow of the American Medical Assn. and a member of the Illinois State Medical Society. He was a member or examiner for about 14 lodges and societies as well as a member of the board of examiners of officers of the Illinois State national guard. In 1914 he was elected vice president of the Military Surgeons' Assn. of Illinois. His military record dated from 1903 when he was made a first lieutenant in the Fifth Infantry. He held different ranks until he was made captain in 1917. He was discharged from service in 1918. He was prominent in Masonry, the American Legion, and many other lodges and societies. Ran Aug 30, 1903.
